What we've been doing today...
Am I convinced he's ready? No. But a couple of days ago while building a puzzle w/the older boys, Noah came to me and asked me to take his diaper off. I agreed, as I had not changed his night-time diaper yet {no judging!}. I figured I would give him a few minutes {no harm in that right?} and then put a new diaper on. Next thing I know he is "playing" with the toilet lid/seat {I'm regretting writing this already}. I ask him if he needs to go potty and he says YES. Been there, done that, but then he does something remarkable! I head to the kitchen to grab a "potty treat" {1 M&M} come back, and........HE PEED! The proof still dripping {TMI?}. Sooo, you tell me...is he trying to tell me he's ready?
P.S. He has only had two "accidents" today.....but as I type, there is something BIG brewing. Of that I AM convinced!
To be continued..........

A really good {birth}day.
Skiing at Kelly Canyon, Soaking our aching muscles at Heise Hot Pools, and eating pizza by the fireplace at Heise Pizza Parlor while the kiddos run wild playing shoot the duck and pacman {the very same games in the very same arcade that I used to play in when I was their age}. A very perfect birthday.
The skis that Noah {Ryder and Ridge learned on them too} is skiing on are the same skis that Chase learned to ski on....how awesome is that?

The Snow day
We finally got a snow day. Just a day, no more...no less. But boy did we take advantage of it! The kiddos were in snow-heaven! Especially Noah considering this is his first official play-in-the-snow day EVER. Last year he was just too young/little to remember or enjoy it. But alas the snow is gone and we are praying for more. Even if it is just one day.
P.S. Any guesses on which day this coincided with? :)

What's there to say, really?
Sometimes a blog post just falls into your lap, like this one....Noah + a marker {still haven't figured out where it came from} = this.....

A Smurftastic 5th Birthday!
Ridge turned 5 on January 12th. To celebrate we had a Smurf-themed party, complete with a Bouncy House {yes, on a beautiful, sunny and snow-free day} Hot dogs and Cheeseballs {per Ridges' request}, Papa Smurfs' Elixir {blue Kool-Aid}, Azraels' catch {goldfish crackers}, Smurfberry Sundaes {yogurt and blueberries}, and many wonderful friends to celebrate with. Happy "Smurfday" to the sweetest 5 year old I know! I love you SO smurfin' much!

Christmas 2011 {Better late than never!}
If I had to pick just one word to describe Christmas this year, it would be EMOTIONAL! For so many reasons...I think a lot has to do with the fact that 2 years ago right before Christmas, our world was turned upside down and sometimes it can still feel like it just happened. I don't remember much from Christmas 2009, and the memories I do have consist of me clutching a phone, getting updates on sweet baby Noah, who at just 1lb was in surgery that Christmas Eve.
All of Chases' siblings and their respective spouses were "home" for Christmas this year! How awesome is that!? I feel so blessed to have had everyone together to celebrate such a Joyous occasion! While driving to Chases' parents' house Christmas morning, I was snuggled up to Chase in the middle seat of the truck, glancing in the rear-view mirror at the 3 most amazing boys; feeling the warmth of the sun hitting my face, I burst into tears. My cup runneth over at that moment! To have my sweet little family ALL together to celebrate the birth of our Savior, I am truly thankful for HIS amazing grace on my life. After every downpour, the sun will ALWAYS shine.
Here are just a few highlights from this Christmas...
